The two cheapest e-bikes worth buying, $250 apart. One of them is a real e-bike and one is nearly one.
If your budget is under $800 these are the two that come up, and the gap between them is wider than the price suggests. This is the comparison where cheaping out actually costs you something. Specs are from both brands’ own product pages, checked October 15, 2026.

Lectric quotes 819W peak for the XP Lite 2 against 350W for the eFold, and the XP Lite 2 has a higher top speed, 25 mph against 20. On flat ground you will not always notice. On a hill with a headwind, or carrying groceries, you will notice every time. Motor power is the spec that separates an e-bike from an assisted bicycle.
Both run 375Wh, but the XP Lite 2 claims 45 miles to the eFold's 40. Same energy, more motor, more range claimed: treat both figures as best-case. Real-world range on a 375Wh battery with throttle use is well under either number, and that is true of every bike at this price.
The eFold is the floor of the category and honest about it. Lower payload, less power, slower. What it gives you is a genuinely cheap way to find out whether you will use an e-bike at all, and 52 lb that folds. That is a real product for a real person.
Neither has a dealer network, so you assemble it and any warranty work happens by mail. Both are light enough to carry up a flight of stairs, which is the main reason to buy a folder in the first place.
