Yozma IN10 Pro vs Talaria Sting R MX4 Expert: $1,799 vs $4,499

The IN10 Pro claims more top speed for $2,700 less. The Talaria Expert spends the difference on name-brand suspension and brakes, 19-inch wheels and a bigger battery. Who each one is for.

If you have outgrown a budget e-moto, these are two very different next steps. The Yozma IN10 Pro is Yozma’s biggest, fastest bike at $1,799. The Talaria Sting R MX4 Expert is the top trim of Talaria’s Sting R line at $4,499. We have not ridden either one. Everything below comes from each brand’s own product page, checked on October 28.

Power and speed: the cheap one claims more

On paper the IN10 Pro is the faster bike: Yozma claims 50 mph against Talaria’s 47+ mph, from 5,500W against 6,000W peak. The torque numbers cannot be compared directly. Talaria gives both the motor figure (34 N·m) and the figure at the rear wheel after gearing (about 375 N·m). Yozma gives one number, 220 N·m, and does not say which it is. Top speed on both also depends on gearing: Talaria’s 47+ mph is with a 44-tooth rear sprocket.

Battery: the Talaria is bigger, and charges in half the time

The IN10 Pro carries a 60V 27Ah battery, about 1,620Wh, and takes 6 to 7 hours to charge. Talaria’s spec list says 60V 38Ah, about 2,280Wh, but further down the same page it calls it an “improved 45Ah battery,” which would be about 2,700Wh. We are using the lower number until Talaria clears that up. Either way it is the bigger battery, and Talaria says it charges in 3 hours. Claimed ranges are close: 60 miles for the Yozma, 62 for the Talaria.

Where the extra $2,700 goes

Mostly into the parts that take the beating. The Talaria Expert has a Manitou Dorado Expert fork with 203mm of travel and Magura MT-5 brakes on 220mm discs, both names riders know from serious mountain bikes. Yozma lists an inverted hydraulic fork and a nitrogen rear shock but gives no travel figures and no brand names. The Talaria also rides on full-size 19-inch wheels front and rear, against the IN10 Pro’s 17 and 14 inches, and Talaria lists it about 20 lb lighter.

The IN10 Pro has a few things the Talaria page does not mention: a reverse gear, three riding modes, and front and rear lights with a brake light.

Size: the Talaria is the bigger bike

The Talaria’s seat is about 2.4 inches higher (33.1 in vs 30.7 in) and its wheelbase is about 4 inches longer. Yozma lists the IN10 Pro for riders from about 4’8″ to 6’4″ with a 330 lb max load. Talaria does not list a rider height range or a max load on this page, so if you are near either end, ask Talaria before buying.

Which one?

Get the IN10 Pro if you want the most claimed speed and power for the money, you ride mostly on your own land or trails, or you are not yet sure you will ride hard enough to wear out budget suspension. Through Yozma’s Halloween sale it also comes with a free riding gear bundle Yozma values at $299.99.

Get the Talaria Expert if you are an experienced rider who will ride rough terrain hard and often, you are tall enough for a 33-inch seat, and you want suspension and brakes you will not need to upgrade. You are paying for parts quality and a bigger battery, not more speed.

If you are coming from something smaller, our Yozma IN11 page and Nova X vs IN10 cover the step below this.

What neither one is

Street legal. Both are sold as off-road only, with no turn signals, no registration path and no VIN for road use. If you do not have private land or legal trails to ride on, do not buy either one.
